Twitter targeting media partnerships

Twitter targeting media partnerships Micro blogging company Twitter has once again reaffirmed its commitment to work with media companies by hiring an online strategist to work specifically in that area. Robert Sloan, who was a vice-president of strategy at Current TV, the company headed by ex US Vice President Al Gore, will work with Chole Sladden who is director of media partnerships at Twitter.

On his blog Sloan wrote that he would work with Sladden and "producers, reporters, developers and strategists at media organizations that want to do cool, transformative things with tweets.

Twitter sees media partnerships as a key way in which the company can generate revenues. Many new organisations such as the New York Times and The Guardian already have huge followings for their Twitter feeds which are generating many millions of page views for their sites. It is expected that more and more media organisations will incorporate Twitter feeds/content to their pages and Sloan has been brought on to help monetise this.
