APA Wins Inaugural Brand Event Award
The summit which was held in November 2010 at Old Billingsgate was described as having defined a discipline and clearly claimed ownership of content as a marketing medium for APA's members. The judges agreed that APA was ahead of the curve and had won the land-grab for the emerging channel. The summit line-up was impressive with stalwarts such as Rory Sutherland, Julie Meyer, Luke Johnson and David Seers taking the stage leaving no stone unturned.
Julia Hutchison, COO of APA said: "We are absolutely delighted to be recognised for our Summit, particularly when we were up against some stiff competition in the form of large consumer brands. We have literally just packed up the chairs from this year's Summit and the feedback so far has surpassed that of last year - so no pressure for next year's Brand Event Awards!
"We recognised that content was going to become an increasingly important part of marketing strategy with the advent of technology and it was essential that our members were seen as the content experts given their heritage in editorialising brands. Through a structured and long term positioning exercise we were able to move in the content direction and The Summit was the capstone of this."
Next year's summit is already in the planning stage and will also be held at Old Billingsgate on 28th November 2012. 1Comment
