As the former MD of Haymarket Network, Patrick played a large part in making the customer publishing industry the leading marketing force it is today. After roles as Publishing Director and Managing Director for many of Haymarket’s consumer and business titles, in 1998 he launched the company’s hugely successful customer publishing division.

 

Over the next decade, Patrick built it into one of Europe’s largest customer publishers, with key clients such as Manchester United, The British Army and the Football Association. He’s now instrumental in widening the APA offer to both clients and members.

"One of my many aims for the APA is to make it much more proactive in promoting customer publishing,” he says. “And that’s exactly what we’re doing."

 
Julia Hutchison

Having worked on both client and supplier side during her illustrious media career, Julia has a unique perspective on the benefits of customer publishing. Before joining the APA in 2004, Julia was marketing and new business director at media agency, Starcom, which led on from publishing roles at Business Age Magazine, Sunday Business Publishing and Associated Newspapers. This experience is invaluable when forming the bridge between client and agency, as Julia is immediately able to understand the requirements and concerns of both sides.

 

“My ultimate aim at the APA is to make sure both clients and members are happy,” she explains, “and we do that by offering a fully joined-up service. We’re the specialists in a highly specialised industry.”

 

Phil Batten

Marketing and Events Manager

Phil has recently joined us as Marketing and Events Manager.

In his new role he is responsible for organizing our many events from Affiliate seminars to our newly announced International Publishing awards and many other events in between.

He brings experience in  this area of expertise from a leading Industrial Association and has already become part of our pro-active team.

Amanda Burrell

Digital Manager

Amanda Burrell has also joined recently as Digital Manager, working closely with Amanda Davie and the rest of the team.

Amanda has worked for one of our largest members, most recently on a major automotive account, as Online co-coordinator, and has already demonstrated her ready understanding of the marketplace and the needs of our membership.
